Years Ending

Well I've finally managed to wind down after all the activities of this year. Many ups and downs to ride but it's been an amazing year in so many ways. Life just seems to get richer in all its essence. I'm placing 2010 projects carefully to one side, in a state fit to return to after the coming festivities - there's lots happening in the new year.

This is the only time of year I take a proper rest so I will be indulging in all manner of ways. Loving family, friends, good food and movies await.

Looking forward to an awesomely positive 2010.

Solstice Love

Well I've finally got around to saying "HAVE A HAPPY FESTIVE TIME TO YOU ALL".
In between all the projects that had to be finished off - or taken to a point at which I can return to them in January, I've been preparing for the Solstice. It's a time people either love or are indifferent to and I love it - I guess because of happy magical childhood memories and then lots of grown up good xmuss times too. The rotten stinking cold/sore throat virus I've been struggling with is finally subsiding just in time. Hooray! So here's to warmth, love peace and happiness all round - goddess knows we all need that more than cheap consumer goods.

Rise up 2009 we're gagging for a spirited positive axis shift.

Never ending...

It's been such an intense year that when I look back at what has gone on I realise I've unwittingly been thinking half the events took place last year. I must admit that the lists of deadlines seemed to be never ending as one got fulfilled to be replaced by another yet I have been happily feeding off the activities with great enthusiasm and excitement. It's always been the case that from such maelstroms come many creative satellites and meetings with old and new wonderful people. Of course the price is stress and exhaustion and I think (despite some health hiccups along the way) I've managed to ward off anything really untoward. I guess you learn damage limitation skills - well you have to - and I don't see the point of doing this if it's not positive and fun. What has been uplifting is the experience of the very new and inspiring. After all my years as an artist in these past few years I have seen and heard new works that blow me away - I can't tell you how awesome that feels.Working on the John Cage remix was a true joy then our weekend was blessed with a visit from Richard (Chartier) and Bob. Now I'm looking forward to Terry (Millimetre) arriving this week to work on some tracks with us and then I'm off to Rome with Chris for my talk at the British School at Rome. After that I'm gearing up (or is it down) to devote the whole of December to relaxing.... which includes the new art projects I'm working on so they will see the light of day next year. Life is rich and beautiful.Cosey xxxx

This year has zoomed past...

This year has zoomed past in a blur and I can't believe it's nearly September. I don't know why my life is full of frustration at not having enough time to do everything I want, but then I do prefer having more than less time on all levels. The Carter Tutti and TG shows earlier this year overlapped which meant having to be in two different mind sets - that was weird at times.

But I've got to the point that so much has happened I can't begin to remember exactly what. Whether that's a good thing or not I have no idea, so I'll settle for what I can drag from the back of my mind when needs be.

This summer has been the first in about 5 years that I've managed to stay at home for an extended period and that's been wonderful. Although I had projects to finish with Chris and for TG none of that demanded my having to be away so I got time to sit in the garden and enjoy the company of our resident birds, bees, hedgehogs and other creatures great & small. Simple pleasures after such a busy 6 months.

Our Feral Vapours film has been held up again because of all the other unexpected events and interesting projects that demanded our attention but we're determined to immerse ourselves again next month when we return to filming once more. That's what's exciting me most at the moment. It will be released in its own good time.

I've been thrilled at the great reception of COH PLAYS COSEY and I'll be beginning work on the sister album COSEY PLAYS COH later this year.

The TG & Cerith Wyn Evans audio sculpture collaboration: 'A=p=p=a=r=i=t=i=o=n' is now complete and has far exceeded all our expectations. It's being shipped to Japan for the Yokohama 2008 Triennale which opens on 13th September. It's very difficult to explain the wonderful experience so here's a little info:

It seems like September is time when things kick off again as then I'm back in the studio recording with Chris, doing a remix for Excepter and then working on contributing some vocals for our friend Terry's new album. Then I'll also be returning to working on my new Art edition of photographic sets of prints. I'm sure I've forgotten something along the way but suffice to say there's much fun ahead!

Signing off till later,

New Year begins...

As 2007 begins Chris and I are quietly re-accumulating energies after the trauma of the last 3 weeks when we faced with nearly losing Nick. Thankfully we have come through the worse and he is beginning to shine again. It's been a seesaw of tremendous emotional highs and lows, a steep learning curve in resolve and physical strains and stresses. But enough of what has now been overcome and onward to brightness and laughter. I'm truly looking forward to and relishing the new positive and creative challenges that we'll begin working on shortly.

HOORAY!!!!

Cosey X...

P.S.
just a step back as I wanted to thank EVERYONE who texted, emailed and sent via mail their blessings for Nick. You have no idea how much that meant to us. x

A significant year...

At last there's time to sit and catch up with myself. I can't remember all that happened in 2002 but I must say I really enjoyed the rest that Xmas gave us.
Last year was significant for me in many ways not least for the fact that it saw my return to art actions. Sometimes things just fall into place and you don't even notice. That's what happened with and what was so wonderful about my two art actions at Disneyland and Beachy Head. I've been working on their documentation and will continue with two further actions in 2003 that will complete my 'Selflessness' project.
The TG24 project dominated much of last year but the end result has been more than worth the work and time it demanded. It's also been a strange year as far as looking back like this is concerned but TG being so long ago meant I found I had a refreshingly different perception of it all.
Chris and I had a really great time playing our concert in Antwerp in November. It was one of those moments when time seems to just fly past because you are so engrossed in the act of creating. It felt so right and flowed so well that when it ended it I felt I'd been awoken from a dream. And now I'm itching to get in the studio again and work on a new CTI album, my new EAR 4 CD, collaborations and video. Oh yes, compiling our Antwerp video really got us both excited about working with visuals again so expect to see some new material in 2003.
More later...
